"I think I can. I think I can. I think I can." -The Little Engine That Could

“Don’t let the fear of the time it will take to accomplish something stand in the way of your doing it. The time will pass anyway; we might just as well put that passing time to the best possible use.”

— Earl Nightingale

It’s an amazingly simple concept, really. We use every opportunity to ignore it.

Oh, that will take forever…

I don’t have time for that…

Don’t settle for instant gratification when the time it takes for real success and happiness is going to pass anyway. Why not be proactive towards owning your time? Hold yourself accountable for each minute. Don’t CHOOSE to waste any of it. It’s all in the way you look at it.

“Whatever course you decide upon, there is always someone to tell you that you are wrong. There are always difficulties arising which tempt you to believe that your critics are right. To map out a course of action and follow it to an end requires courage.”

— Ralph Waldo Emerson

“What day is it?” It’s today,” squeaked Piglet. My favorite day,” said Pooh.”

— A.A. Milne

A little throwback from childhood to remind us that every day should be our favorite day.

What makes something our favorite? It could be new and exciting. It could be comfortable and familiar. It could be short and sweet or long and everlasting. The best thing about a “favorite” is that it is as unique as we are.

Fill each day with comfort and familiarity. Surround yourself with new and exciting things. Do something every day that makes it feel like your favorite.

“Too much of a good thing can be wonderful!”

— Mae West

Let yourself overdose on joy. Find your bliss, let it fill each day, and find yourself floating from one thing you love to the next. Too much of a good thing can be wonderful– do not talk yourself out of happiness.

Take the good that finds you, and when it does, do not limit yourself. Moderation is nothing in the face of soul-stirring joy.

Do yourself a favor. Stop running. Let happiness catch you.
