“You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, ‘I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.’ You must do the thing you think you cannot do.”

— Eleanor Roosevelt

Ellie is my go-to girl for inspiration. (And yes, we are so close she INSISTED I call her “Ellie.”)

I am not particularly fond of the phrase, “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.” I prefer Ellie’s, hands down.

For every hiccup. For every bump in the road. For every bruised ego and broken heart. For every struggle, you have gained strength.

Don’t (nay, NEVER) forget how strong you are.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… Sometimes we need to take a look around and see how far we have come. Open your eyes and stare these challenges in the face. You are bigger than anything that comes your way. Remember that.

And because it is the beginning of Movember, I couldn’t resist…

“Do not stop thinking of life as an adventure. You have no security unless you can live bravely, excitingly, imaginatively; unless you can choose a challenge instead of competence.”

— Eleanor Roosevelt

“Do what you feel in your heart to be right – for you’ll be criticized anyway.”

— Eleanor Roosevelt

While everyone loves a good “haters gon’ hate” reference, Eleanor probably said it best.
